The first sequence of these exciting Lecture series begins wth a talk by Dr.Hasan Javadi an expert in Persian literature, literary researcher and critic, discussing his latest work on the British orientalist.: "Edward Granville Browne and Iran". Javadi has also written a book earlier about Browne entitled: ‘E. G. Browne and the Persian Constitutional Movement’.

Edward Granville Browne (1862-1926) is regarded as one of the greatest European scholars in modern Iranian studies. He travelled and spent an extensive period of time in Iran.


Most of his publications are related to the history and literature of Iran.

The moderator and discussant at this lecture session will be the renowned Iranologist, Dr Willem Floor.
